The Regulated Horse, episode 3: The SEEKING System

Tue 10 Nov · Live online, 20:00 South African time

We need to talk about treats. The third webinar in the series with Ray: what a carrot does inside a tense horse in the seconds before it arrives, the brain’s wanting system, why dopamine fires for the promise and not the prize, and what studies on horses have measured, every claim graded by how strong the evidence is. And where food genuinely helps. Free to join. Book your seat and the join link is emailed to you.

    Swartvlei: two-day horsemanship clinic

21 Nov – 22 Nov · Swartvlei Guest Farm, Garden Route

    See everything about this clinic

Two days on three things: horsemanship, resilience and liberty. Bring the behaviour you are stuck with. Day one, read your horse: where the worry starts, and what it does before the problem. Day two, build on it, with you doing the work and Ray coaching you. Come for one day or stay for both. Both days costs far less than two single days, with your own horse or watching from the side.

Three ways to be there

With your horse,
without one, or online.

A participant place

Bring your own horse to a clinic. You get your own one-on-one sessions with Ray, and you watch everyone else’s.

An auditor place

Come to a clinic without a horse. Watch every session up close, notebook in hand, and ask your questions.

A webinar seat

Too far to travel? Join The Regulated Horse live from home. The join link is emailed to you.

The price of each place is on its date.

The clinics

Build resilience
into your horse.

A resilient horse still feels the pressure. It can meet something hard, stay with you, and come back down quickly afterwards. That is built in small steps, with a warning first and a way out second.

It is a group day, and the work is one-on-one: each participant gets their own sessions with Ray and their horse, while everyone else watches and learns from them.

The webinars

The Regulated
Horse.

A tense horse cannot learn. This series is about the state underneath the behaviour: what a settled nervous system looks like, what it looks like when it is not, and what you can do about it.

Request a clinic

Before you book

Do I need my own horse?

Only for a participant place. Auditors are very welcome with no horse at all. You come to watch, listen and learn.

What level do I need to be?

Every level is welcome, from green riders to seasoned ones. Clinics are kept small so the work meets you where you are.

Where are the clinics held?

Across southern Africa through the year. Each date shows its exact venue: pick the one nearest you.

What should I bring?

Your horse and normal riding gear for a participant place. A notebook and your questions for an auditor place. Full joining details come with your ticket.

Can I transfer or get a refund?

Places are limited, so let us know as early as you can. Message Ray on WhatsApp and we will always do our best to help you transfer or reschedule.

Pick a date.
Ray will be there.
